about my Tattoos

A layout about my decision to pick timeless designs for my tattoo choices at a time when a lot of people where getting flowers or cartoon characters. I knew then that I wanted them to be neutral if you can call body art neutral. I never regretted them.

Rockstar Attitude

A Layout about Phoenix's obsession to become a ROCKSTAR. He still gets shy though when I sneak up on him to take pictures. I cut along the PP to use the elements I really wanted to keep on my page and also to add dimension and make some elements pop.
just like the rest of the LO distressed and inked edges - ribbon accents in coordinating colors (american crafts)
This detail is a Stampin Up stamp (hostess level 2 - a little somethin')stamped with archival ink on a paper bag and covered in glossy accents (ranger)
and here a picture of the Kahihikolo Tribe at Chris Cornell concert in Luxembourg on 9 June 2009 - Phoenix's 1st live concert experience ;-)

3 Omens

This is a LO I made after the birth of Phoenix in December 2001 - showing 3 omens that showed up in my life between 1999 and 2000.
The description of the photos are on the tags below the respective photo.

I've been thinking a lot lately about how I felt during my first pregnancy 7 years ago. The biggest memory apart from being super-excited to become a mom was overshadowed by the 911 attacks (I was 6 months pregnant).
This time around I don't feel anything like I did back then - less worry, more relaxed, I am as sick during this one though as I was during the first one. Unable to really eat most days because of the constant nausea I have only gained 7 pounds in 35 weeks. Baby will be here on July 3rd and we can hardly wait to meet the little man.
We are having a really hard time deciding on a name this time around - See my poll on the side bar (Just for fun!).

Memorial Day Layout

In Honor of Memorial Day I wanted to share this Layout with you.
Yet another Phoenixsm - he put this 'memorial' together at a beach in spain and had a very logical explanation as to what it represented (this happened completely unrelated to the actual Memorial day the Photos were taken sometime in February 2007)- I will post some more detailed photos later on (camera battery died on me).

Perfect Bubble

A circle (bubble) inspired Layout starting with the polkadot patterned papers - I used transparency to create the title (TIP: print mirror image on reverse side of the transparency sheet to avoid smudges) and layered elements on this page, inked all the edges with the fired brick distress ink (ranger)to add more dimension and texture.

Monster Orange Thief

This LO is all about the color ORANGE and of course the fruit too - these photos were taken in Spain in the citrus fields. The title is made of different sized chipboard letters, painted with a rich orange acrylic paint and then 2 coats of glossy accents to make them really shine.

Spring 2007

Here's a layout of some really cool spring pictures I took in 2007 when my friend Sarah was visiting with her girls. I love the vibrant green color of the fields and it's the main inspiration of the color scheme on this page. I used Hambly prints white rub-ons to accent directly on the photos. The title are chipboard letters covered in pp and the edges painted a coordinating pink color.

Raconteurs Concert Atelier 28 August 2008

Unfortunately I don't have any actual Photos from the Gig - but when I went to their site to get some Images - the Vintage Feel of them inspired me to really distress this page.

the wild child

Since our baby is going to be a BOY I still have the need to do GIRLY pages - this one of my friend Sarah's daughter Faith (aka Peanut). I miss that little sassy girl. Why do you have to live in Wisconsin ?!?!?!?!

pure love

This is a Layout I made for a PACS challenge - we were supposed to use die cuts (my title cut with the silhouette) and shape scissors (look at the details around the bottom side cut with Fiskars scissors). Being pregnant again (Phoenix just turned 7 in December) I wanted to remind myself about the precious baby moments we had with Phoenix.

meeting da mouse

This is a LO that I created in a class by Denise Laborde during PACS 2008 last October. If you know me you will surely be aware of my aversion to WHITE pages/paper - on Denise's version there was a lot more white space - I thought the color scheme was perfect for this 2003 photo of Phoenix with Mickey and Minnie.

Tattoo number 3 finished

I dug out some old photos and made a double LO about getting my 3rd Tattoo at the Tattoo Convention in Amsterdam in 1994.
